In search of a town with big lots and a country atmosphere to raise his family, Will Cottle made the move from Richardson to his home on Maxwell Creek Road in Murphy in 1974.
“When we first moved here, you could almost get a folding chair and set it up in the middle of 544 and rest,” he said. “You could certainly do that on our street. Our neighbor’s dog used to sleep in the middle of the street and never had any trouble.”
