Budget work begins for FY 2021

The Murphy City Council has received a bit of good news as it continues its budget prepa­ration for fiscal year 2021. And, it’s likely residents won’t see a water rate usage increase from the North Texas Municipal Wa­ter District.

According to Chris Ekrut, NewGen Strategies and So­lutions consultant, the water district projects that rates will remain stable at least for the next year. Mayor Scott Bradley welcomed Ekrut’s projection as “good news,” which he com­mented is often rare when they make presentations to council.
