It wouldn’t be summer break without summer reading programs, and local libraries aren’t going to let a pandemic stand in their way.
Events will be online this year to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Even though readers won’t be able to gather in crowds for magic shows, musical performances or writing meet-ups, virtual reading challenges can still build community and even earn people some prizes.
Wylie’s Smith Public Library has already kicked off summer reading, with more events to come.
