Five days before Murphy resident Max Barron and Parker resident Kent Bogdan were scheduled to participate in the Bataan Memorial Death March in New Mexico, the event was canceled due to COVID-19.
The men had been planning; physically and mentally for the event since January when Bogdan approached Barron to join him on the march through the high desert terrain of the White Sands Missile Range.
Barron quickly agreed once he learned about the mission behind the event.
