City of Murphy Mayor Scott Bradley signed a Declaration of Local Disaster on Tuesday, March 17 in response to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
“This order gives the city both operational and financial tools that we can use as we navigate this pandemic together,” he said.
The declaration reads, “The state of disaster for public health emergency shall continue for a period of no more than seven days from the date of declaration unless continued or reviewed by the city could of Murphy.”
A disaster declaration allows a city to seek emergency funds or reimbursement from state or federal governments.
