WHS seniors intern with contractor

Wylie High seniors Luke Stampe and Tristan Smith, along with a graduated classmate of theirs, spent their summer getting up before dawn to gain firsthand knowledge of the construction industry. Now that the school year is a quarter of the way through, they’ve noticed just how much their summer work has paid off in the classroom.

Stampe and Smith interned with TDIndustries, a mechanical contractor that specializes in HVAC (heating, ventilation, air conditioning), plumbing and piping. Their duties included everything from welding HVAC units themselves to getting ice water for their teams.
