Although 1.6 million students enter the National Merit Scholarship Program each year, only 16,000 are declared semifinalists. And Wylie is home to three of them.
Wylie High School seniors Jacob Kotrla and Wreighn Mendoza and Wylie East senior Addie Orr were named to the list in early September.
