More than $1.6 million was trimmed from the general fund portion of the proposed 2019-20 Murphy budget and a half-cent property tax rate increase is recommend to overcome a potential deficit next year.
However, it is pointed out in notes to the budget that the changes to erase the deficit are not sustainable and included one-time fixes.
