Murphy City Council voted last week to pursue eminent domain condemnations to acquire strips of property at four locations needed to perform work to replace paving and make drainage improvements on N. Maxwell Creek Road.
The council met Tuesday, July 16, and had several items on the agenda to advance capital improvement projects approved by voters in a November 2017 general obligation bond election.
The N. Maxwell Creek Road project calls for replacing 3,700 linear feet of asphalt road with a concrete surface, improving drainage ditches and installing an 8-inch water line. Estimated cost of the work is $1.4 million.
