Murphy Police Department is accepting applications for its annual Youth Citizens Police Academy to be held the week of July 22-26.
The academy is open to Murphy students entering sixth through 12th grades.
“We are now recruiting young men and women for this year’s 1-week academy class,” Officer Fred Mancias, program director, said. “The students who participate in the YCPA will experience a week filled with active, hands-on training on a variety of law enforcement topics.”
Sessions will be held at various locations during the week, including the police department, Murphy Fire Department and on the grounds of the city hall complex.
