Reading club kicks off June 7

Smith Public Library patrons need to mark their calendars for the Summer Kickoff Party set for Friday, June 7 to start summer reading club activities.

The party is from 9 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at the Wylie Municipal Complex on Country Club. Smith Public Library and Wylie Recreation Center are co-hosting the event.

Planned are bounce houses, an inflatable slide, music provided by RJ Spinners, the Rad Hatter, BooCoos the Clown, miniature train rides, the Perot Tech Truck and a silent dance party.

Last year, the reading club kickoff party drew a 1,839 people.
