Much of the Murphy City Council meeting last week consisted of seating recently-elected members, three of whom are new, to the municipal governing body.
The council met in regular session Tuesday, May 21, at City Hall.
Preceding the swearing-in ceremony were remarks from outgoing councilmembers Owais Siddiqui, Place 1, and Don Reilly, Place 6, who chose not to seek new terms this year.
Siddiqui served six years on the council and stated that the privilege became a big part of his life and identity since 2013.
