Concert series opens Friday, June 7

Music to satisfy a variety of tastes is offered this summer when the annual Sounds of Sundown concert series opens Friday, June 7 at the Central Park amphitheater.

The outdoor concerts are planned for each Friday evening in June. The events start at 7 p.m. and bands play from 8-10 p.m. Food truck vendors will be on site.

Sponsoring the series is Murphy Community Development Corporation.

Opening the concerts on June 7 is the Windbreakers, a Dallas band offering what it calls yacht rock, or smooth sounds from the 1970s and 1980s.
