Despite a wide-ranging discussion, Murphy City Council members decided to put off any decisions to regulate temporary signs until three new council members take office this month.
The council met in regular session Tuesday, May 7 at City Hall.
Although the council passed on temporary, or portable, signs regulation, it did approve a variance to allow a third wall sign on the Rusty Taco building at 109 N. Murphy Road.
City ordinances allow only two wall signs on a business location, but it was pointed out that a variance was allowed for three signs at Jersey Mike’s. The variance for Rusty Taco was approved unanimously.
