Owens claims silver in 100 meters at Austin

AUSTIN – It was a storybook ending for Plano East’s Tyler Owens.

The senior placed second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.38 in the Class 6A track and field meet.

Matthew Boling of Houston Strake Jesuit set a new national, state and conference 6A record in 10.18 at Mike A. Myers Stadium.

Greenville’s Henry Neal with a time of 10.15 set the previous records in 1990.
