With a little more than 100 days under his belt as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, it didn’t take Van Taylor of Plano long to determine that government operates differently in Washington, D.C. than it does in Austin.
Taylor was elected last year to represent District 3 in Congress. Prior to that he had served as a member of the Texas House of Representatives and Texas Senate.
“It’s really broken there,” he declared of the nation’s capital.
The congressman pointed out that his deskmate in the Texas Senate was a Democrat–Taylor is a Republican–and was asked recently why he was visiting with Democrats in the U.S. House.
