Sophomores and juniors attending Plano ISD schools have an opportunity to gain valuable experience while earning a paycheck.
Mayor Harry LaRosiliere kicked off the Plano Mayor’s Summer Internship Program Tuesday, Feb. 26. The program places 120 current sophomores and juniors with Plano-area businesses from June 10 through Aug. 2.
The interns will earn at least $10 an hour and work between 20 and 40 hours a week. This is the sixth year of the program.
Students can apply at planomayorsinterns.org/students. Potential interns must have turned 16 years old by June 10, attend a Plano high school, be able to work in the U.S., have a 3.0 GPA or higher, and work the entire eight weeks.
Attendance at an intern prep day, set for March 23, is also required.
Businesses interested in hosting an intern can sign up at planomayorsinterns.org/partner-application.
