Drama students at Plano East Senior High School are working hard on a workplace-based musical.
Performances of “9 to 5: The Musical” run Jan. 24-26 at 7 p.m. and Jan. 27 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 for students, $15 for adults and $20 for premium seating.
The show tells the story of Violet, Doralee and Judy, workers at Consolidated Industries who dream of overthrowing their boss and running the company themselves.
“‘9 to 5: The Musical’ is about three women who overcome misogyny and unfair treatment in the workplace,” said director Brian Grunkowski. “Based on the movie with Dolly Parton, Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, ‘9 to 5’ is as important of a story today as it was back in its release date. The PESH musical has become a staple of our community’s arts performance. Everyone should come enjoy the unstoppable and infectious music!”
PESH is located at 3000 Los Rios Blvd.
