by | Jan 17, 2019 | Latest

Murphy City Council members last week approved bids for two projects totaling almost $260,000 to make infrastructure improvements and equipment upgrades.

The action was taken at the Tuesday, Jan. 8 meeting of the council.

Bids for culvert and drainage improvements on McWhirter Road were presented by Public Works Director Tim Rogers and the council agreed to award a $99,650 contract to GRod Construction, the low of seven bidders.

The project consists of installing a culvert under N. Murphy Road at McWhirter and reclaiming the bar ditches on the south side of N. Murphy Road, Rogers reported. Construction had been estimated at $165,000 and a high bid of $222,400 was received.
