As a way to encourage water conservation, Murphy City Council last week conducted a workshop to explore the benefits of irrigation controllers and how to encourage homeowners to install them on their sprinkler systems.
The workshop was held Tuesday, Dec. 4 prior to the regular council meeting.
Devices used to regulate lawn watering systems, referred to as Smart Irrigation Controllers, feature a satellite or home weather station that adjusts when an irrigation station funs based on the temperature and evaporation rates in the area.
“It will adjust the times you want the system to run,” Parks Superintendent Matt Foster stated.
