Although a little reluctant at first, Carolyn Weeks decided to accept the post of Murphy Chamber of Commerce chairman for 2019 and is looking forward to the year ahead.
“I am excited about it,” Weeks declared. “I think its something I can really make a difference in. I think it’s a good use of my skills.”
The new chamber chairman takes the reins from Celso Martinez who served this year and initially asked Weeks to consider taking the post.
Weeks recalled that she did not immediately respond to an email from Martinez and that when she did, she was under the impression it was for the vice chairman slot and agreed. When that misunderstanding was cleared up, she decided that she had agreed to serve and would honor that agreement.
“I have a good game plan,” she said. “I’m excited to show what we achieve, and show that in a good way.”
