A retired colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps paid tribute to military veterans at the annual Veterans Day luncheon of the Murphy Chamber of Commerce.
The luncheon was held Tuesday, Nov. 13, at Murphy Community Center. A barbecue meal was catered by Dickey’s Pit Barbecue and dessert was provided by Seth Thomas Artistic Enterprises.
Chamber Chairman Celso Martinez welcomed guests to the event and army veteran Lou Diamond offered the invocation and led the Pledge of Allegiance.
“Our veterans today are the same caliber of men who climbed out of those trenches in World War I,” Col. Kim Poole (Ret.) declared.
