Panthers atone for last season’s defeat in 6-6A

Plano East’s goal of a perfect season looked to be in jeopardy following a slow start Saturday, Sept. 22 against McKinney Boyd.

The District 9-6A opener was scheduled for Friday, Sept. 21 at McKinney ISD Stadium, however, the game was put in a pregame lightning delay and the start was moved to the following day.

Plano East (4-0, 1-0 in district) battled through the game change to come away with the 42-21 victory.

Both offenses came out of the gates slowly and Plano East was forced to two three-and-outs that start the game. Brandon Mallory started the game 0-5 and Boyd (0-4, 0-1) was beginning to threaten the East defense.
