Plano East head coach Robert Reed feels good about his teams, despite the loss of their top runner.

The cupboard is far from bare as both varsity cross country teams return a wealth of talent and will get added help from the freshmen class in 2018.

“Our teams have been working hard since the beginning of June and think we will progress nicely through the season with the addition of some freshmen and our returners have another year under their belt,” Reed said. “Our one though five gap will be a lot tighter this year and that is something we’ve tried to focus on by training and working together on a daily basis.”

Back for the Panthers are Grant Wilcox, Jeffrey Sillers, Ben Walker, Hudson Yarborough, Hunter Akridge, Travis Jasper and Timothy Averill. Last season the boys claimed third in the District 6-6A meet.
