Murphy area residents can find their forever friend this Saturday, Aug. 18, during Clear the Shelters at Murphy Animal Shelter.
For the fifth straight year, Murphy is taking part in the nationwide pet adoption event. The shelter opens at 9:30 a.m. and will provide adoption services until the last pet at the facility finds a home.
Adoption fees are waived for the 1-day event. All adoptable animals have been spayed or neutered and have received vaccines.
Since 2014, more than 23,500 pets have been adopted from North Texas shelters and more than 150,000 animals across the country have found homes during the event. Murphy has cleared its shelter every year.
