Veterans Tribute design unveiled

by | Jul 12, 2018 | Latest

A final rendering of the Veterans Tribute Project of Murphy Historical Society was unveiled last week and kicked off fundraising efforts for the project.

The Veterans Tribute has been in planning stages since January 2017 and is to be built on a 100×100 space located at the entrance to Murphy Central Park, on the northeast side of the PSA parking lot.

“We received permission from the Parks Board and the City Council for the property before we proceeded with the project,” tribute committee chairman Mary Pat Elledge said. “A grant was received from Murphy Community Development Corporation and that money, along with previously raised funds, allowed us to retain a landscape architect to create our design.”
