Plano East softball capped off an up and down 2018 season with all-district honors.

Gabbi Lopez, Bella Konieczka and Amy Jensen made the 6-6A second-team.

Honorable mention went to Carson Armijo.

Avery Markley was named second-team academic all-state by the Texas Girls Coaches Association.

The Lady Panthers tied for fourth place in 6-6A with Allen at 7-7. However, the latter claimed the fourth postseason spot after winning both contests.

“The season did not end the way I wanted it to but we have a lot of young talent and I am excited for next year,” Plano East head coach Cindy Mosteller said.

Plano East had an overall record of 17-11.

Also advancing to the playoffs was state ranked and district champion Plano at 13-1, Denton Guyer went 11-3 and Wylie claimed the third spot at 8-6.

Below Plano East were 4-10 Plano West and McKinney Boyd, and last was 2-12 McKinney.

The Lady Panthers last missed the postseason cut in 2015 as a member of 6-6A.

Advancing were Flower Mound, Lewisville, Plano West and Plano.
