GEORGETOWN – It was the perfect ending to Libby Winans high school golf career.
The Plano East senior won the Class 6A individual state title with a two-round total of 135 at Legacy Hills Golf Club.
Winans, an Oklahoma signee, was tied for first place after the first round with a 3-under par 69.
She shared the lead with Fort Ben Clements’ Annie Chenn and Amelia McKee from Klein Oak.
Winans finished with birdies on holes three, four, 16 and 18 at Georgetown.
She went on a tear the second day sinking multiple birdies and finishing with a 6-under par 66. She recorded birdies on holes three, seven, nine, 14, 17 and 18.
Chenn, of Clements, finished second with a two-day total of 138 and Hebron’s Jennie Park carded a two-round score of 140.
Hebron’s Park’s was tied for ninth with a score of 72 after the first round.
