ARLINGTON – Libby Winans dominated the field during the Class 6A Region I Golf Tournament.

In her fourth straight trip to regionals, the Plano East senior was a first medalist with a two-day total of 2-under par 142 at Tierra Verde Club.

She fired an opening round score of 75 and ended up with a 67 second round.

Winans qualified for the trip to Arlington after recording a two round total of 13-under par 131 in the District 6-6A meet at Bridlewood Golf Club in Flower Mound.

She shot a first round score of 66 and fired a 65 during the second round, both were new school records.

The 6A state tournament is slated for May 21-22 at Legacy Hill Golf Club in Georgetown.

Last season as a junior, Winans had a two-day total of 150 at state. She scored a 74 in the first round and 76 second round.

Lewisville Hebron’s Jennie Park earned the final spot for state this season after scoring a two round total of 146, with a first round 75 and second round 71.

Plano West’s Ellie Roth made it as an alternate with a total of 148. She had a first round score of 77 and 71 during the second round.

Also competing in the regional tourney individually were Haltom’s Kodie Winnings (total of 161), Ellison’s Kayla McFall (167), Odessa Permian’s Emily Serrano (173), Timber Creek’s Lauren Wallace (196) and El Paso Coronado’s Kayla Molina (199). Earning team titles were Southlake Carroll (score of 606), McKinney Boyd (617) and Allen (636).
