Plano East kicks off spring practices

It’s football time in Texas.

Plano East kicked off spring practices Monday, April 16 at the high school field.

They’ll practice for four weeks five times a week and conclude things with the Spring Showcase.

Practices are scheduled for 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the turf field behind the indoor facility.

That spring game is slated for 7:30 p.m. May 11 at Kimbrough Stadium in Murphy. Junior varsity will play at 6:30 p.m.

The Panthers spent the last several months going through the offseason program. Plano East head coach Joey McCullough commented the players got stronger during the offseason.

“For us to be able to compete with teams like Allen, Sachse and Denton Guyer we had to get physically stronger up front on the offensive and defensive lines,” he said.
