Recent heavy rains that damaged 75 percent of the soft walking surface on the Timbers Nature Preserve Park trail has the Murphy city council looking at a permanent solution to avoid repeated repairs.
The trail was discussed last week at a regular session of the council held Tuesday, March 20. Also on the agenda were the sale of $5.5 million in certificates of obligation, acceptance of the annual financial audit and police department racial profiling report, and how best to spend a $180,000 Texas Department of Transportation grant.
