Plano East graduate signs $75M deal with Phillies

Plano East 2004 graduate Jake Arrieta helped lead the Chicago Cubs to the 2016 Major League Baseball World Series championship.

Jake Arrieta, a 2004 Plano East graduate, has found a new home in the City of Brotherly Love.

Earlier this week he signed a three-year $75 million with the Philadelphia Phillies.

The righty spent the previous five seasons, 2013-’17, as a member of the Chicago Cubs pitching staff.

Three years in, 2015, Arrieta was named the National League Cy Young Award winner.
