THE COLONY – Plano East girls basketball gave Flower Mound all they could handle on Monday, Feb. 12.
In the end it wasn’t quite enough in a 51-48 Class 6A Region I bi-district loss.
“I am very proud of the determination and fight the girls showed to get back into the game. I wish we hadn’t dug a hole in the first quarter. We did not shoot well early in the game, I attribute that to good defense by Flower Mound as well as some poor shot selection on our part,” PESH head coach Cherilyn Morris said. “When the girls started to move the ball better, get in space and take good shots we had much more success later in the game. Our defense and rebounding was key to making the runs we did and giving us a shot in the end.”
Flower Mound went ahead 14-6 after one quarter at The Colony High School.
Plano East would outscore the Lady Jaguars 12-11 in the following quarter for a 26-18 deficit at halftime.
