A second suspect in a string of robberies, that included the Whataburger restaurant in Murphy on Jan. 19, was arrested last week by Mesquite police.

The arrest of Eraycio Clark, 21, of Dallas was made Wednesday, Jan. 31. He faces multiple charges of aggravated robbery and is jailed in Dallas County under bonds totaling $300,000.

Arrested Jan. 25 in connection with the Murphy robbery was Devundre Ghoston, 20, of Mesquite who is jailed in Dallas County under bonds totaling $1.1 million.

Since Dec. 28, 2017, there were 19 robberies in 15 different cities in the Dallas area that law enforcement investigators attribute to Ghoston and Clark. Additional charges of aggravated robbery are expected to be filed.

The Whataburger in Murphy was robbed about 4:10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, when a man entered the restaurant, brandished a semi-automatic handgun and forced the restaurant manager to open the store safe, Murphy Police Chief Arthur Cotten reported.

The suspect fled the restaurant in a late model white Dodge Charger with about $2,000 in cash and then reportedly drove to Irving and committed two more robberies, Cotten said.
