Pair of wins pushes Lady Panthers to fifth

The Lady Panthers have clawed their back into playoff contention.

Plano East started the second round of District 6-6A with wins over Wylie 58-49 and Denton Guyer 56-52.

As of Monday, Jan. 22 they were fifth in the standings at 4-5 and 16-12 overall.

“The second half to district gives us renewed life. We get another shot at some mistakes we made in the first round,” PESH head coach Cherilyn Morris said. “The girls have been improving on the things we struggled with early on and we are hoping to get back into the playoff race.”

Above them were 8-1 Plano and Allen, McKinney 7-2 and Wylie 6-3.
