A quiet demonstration changed quickly as shots were fired the evening of Friday, July 7 as a lone sniper took aim at Dallas Police and DART officers, and civilians in downtown Dallas.

In all, five officers were killed and nineĀ  were wounded.

Twenty-four miles away, members of the Murphy Police department got the news that their brothers in arms had fallen.
