The 2016 season was one in which the Lady Panthers regained their rightful place as a playoff participant, albeit just for one round.
However, considering Plano East finished 3-13 in district in 2015, its 9-7 record — No. 4 seed and they lost to eventual state champ Keller in the first round — was an accomplishment that resulted from hard work.
Most of that was put in by the Lady Panthers themselves, and for some their efforts were rewarded with inclusion on the 2016 6-6A All-District team.
Standing out for the black and gold was freshman Ronni Ramos, who was named the Newcomer of the Year.
