ALLEN — It’s been a season of twists and turns, as well as ups and downs, for the Plano East Panthers.
However, through all that, PESH never lost sight of its goal: making the playoffs.
On Monday, the Panthers achieved their objective, as they downed Allen 4-0 in a winner-take-all match at Ford Middle School, and clinched the No. 4 seed out of District 6-6A.
Had Allen won, the Eagles would have earned the final playoff seed. It became a do-or-die game after East tied Hebron 1-1 on Friday, and Allen lost to Plano West.
That victory gave East a 5-6-5 district record and earned them a date with Byron Nelson, the top seed from 5-6A in tonight’s bi-district round at Flower Mound’s Neal E. Wilson/Jaguar Stadium.
