To say the 2015-’16 season was a good to the Panthers would be an understatement.
From beginning, the PESH boys played a stellar form of basketball; one that carried them to the District 6-6A title, as well as playoff wins over Byron Nelson and Cedar Hill. That entire effort didn’t take place in a vacuum, but was done under the watchful eyes of East’s fans, coaches and opposition.
It was latter who really understood how well the Panthers performed, especially within 6-6A, where coaches rewarded PESH by naming many of its players to the All-District team.
Leading the list was senior Devin Gifford, who was named the 6-6A MVP, while teammates Chris Parker (senior) and Chauncey Thomas (senior) were named the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, respectively. Thomas shared his award with Hebron’s Riley Ellis.
