According to a report from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality the city of Murphy violated water monitoring and reporting requirements.
During the time period of Jan. 1, 2013 to Dec. 31, 2015, the city didn’t monitor or test for lead and copper tap water sampling. As a result they cannot be sure of the quality of the drinking water.
The city will be collecting water samples after June 1 until Sept. 30 to come into compliance with TCEQ regulations. They are testing on those dates because the water is warmer due to higher temperatures.
