Students in Plano East Senior High FFA picked up some top awards this month in the Collin County Junior Livestock Show.
The weeklong show, Jan. 4-9, was held at Myers Park Event Center in McKinney and culminated with a ribbon sale. In a ribbon sale, bidders reward showmen for the efforts but the students retain ownership of their animals.
Best showing for PESH was a trailer built by Connor Holsted which was judged the Grand Champion. The Ssecond place trailer was built by Cesar Vizuet.
Results from the swine show were: Mauri Herrera, 6th and 8th Place, Duroc; Rachael Stolk, 4th Place, Spot; Molly Morrow, 4th Place, White OPB; April Alfaro, 3rd Place, Duroc; Braden Rotramel, 6th Place, Hampshire; Cole Schrodel, 9th Place, Yorkshire; Brianna Kemlo, 3rd Place, White OPB; Alyssa Bottlinger, 7th Place, Black OPB; and Karigan Northam, 6th Place, Black OPB.
