The Panthers have been a team to reckon with in district play ever since Jeff Clarkson took over the coaching controls four seasons ago.
If this season’s first two 6-6A contests are any indication, then they will be again. This past Friday, East improved to 2-0 in district with a 59-45 road victory at Plano.
A week earlier, they defeated McKinney Boyd 71-57, and they attempted to go 3-0 this past Tuesday at home against Flower Mound Marcus.
After that, East will play in the Dec. 28-30 Allen tournament, and then the 6-6A schedule resumes on Saturday, Jan. 2 at Lewisville.
“Obviously, in our district, any win you can get is good,” head coach Jeff Clarkson said. “Overall, we obviously have things to work on, but I felt our guys are ready to play, and our guys gave good effort in those two games.”
