U.S. Congressman Sam Johnson recently announced the 2015-‘16 Congressional Youth Advisory Council participants. Wylie High School student Breanna Jones was selected as one of the 87 Collin County high school students on the council.

“My father’s co-worker received an email about the Congressional Youth Advisory Council,” Breanna said. “Because I am interested in Public Health, and the criteria placed heavy emphasis on academic achievement and community service, she thought it would be a great opportunity for me.”

Breanna’s father collected all of the information and she applied in September. She was selected by a community board to serve on the council due to her outstanding leadership skills, academic performance, extra-curricular activity participation and community service.
