The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Wylie recently began a project wrapping military personnel far away in stitches of love called ‘hugs’. The church is filling requests for homemade quilts, which will be sent to soldiers stationed in Korea.
The project began in 2013 when Marilyn Demke, a military mom in Gallatin MO, received a request from her son, Sgt. Bryan Demke, to make a few quilts in an effort to boost morale for some of the soldiers stationed in Afghanistan.
