Riddle me this Batman: When is a punch to the gut a good thing?
Answer: When it rids you of complacency.
That appears to have happened to Plano East, which suffered its first defeat of 2015 last Friday, 34-23, at the hands of McKinney Boyd.
Instead of sending the Panthers into a funk, the loss seems to have awakened them out of its doldrums, a condition possibly brought on by a 4-0 start and a bye week.
“I think it’s the best thing that ever happened to us,” head coach Joey McCullough said. “I truly believe that, without a doubt, (based) on the way our practice was (Monday).”
