McCrary wins Texas Women’s Open

Wylie resident Maddie McCrary recently captured first at Energy Producers, Inc. Texas Women’s Open, which took place at the Rolling Hills Country Club in Arlington.

McCrary, a student at Oklahoma State University, fired a two-day 139 (3-under par) to finish five strokes ahead of Chirapat Jao-Javanil of Metairie, La. The Wylie resident took home the championship and the Low Amateur honors, and earned a lifetime exemption to the championship.

The 36-hole tournament featured 129 top professional and amateur players. This is the second year Rolling Hills hosted the tournament.

McCrary will be a sophomore at OSU this year and is a member of the Lady Cowgirl golf team.
