The Murphy Cemetery Assoc. is holding its annual Memorial Day observance at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 23, at Decatur-Maxwell-Murphy Cemetery, located behind Murphy Middle School. The MoM group will hold a free concert as a tribute to the firefighters, paramedics and police officers of Murphy. Rising Country and Western singer, Blane Howard, will play Sunday, May 17 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Murphy Central Park amphitheater.
Moonlight Movies will feature Hook at the Murphy Amphitheater at 7 p.m. In the event of rain, the movie will be moved inside. Check the city website for details.
The monthly Murphy Chamber Luncheon is Tuesday, May 19 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Murphy Activity Center, 201 N Murphy Road. The speaker will be Bob Garrey from Scheef and Stone L.L.P. The topic is “25 in 25: Practical Legal Advice for individuals and small – medium sized business owners.” The event will be catered by Dickey’s BBQ.
Collin County Farmers Market will feature the Health Benefits of Herbs and Essential Oils May 16 at 10 a.m. for the first market class. Murphy City Hall parking lot.
