Two sets of summer tennis camps will be held this year at Plano East High School.
The first will take place June 8-12 and the second will be Aug. 3-7, with the classes in each session taking place 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. The camps will be for all levels, ages 8-16, and will cost $190 ($12.67 an hour), which includes a T-shirt.
They will be run by Plano East head coach Don Allen, who will be assisted by some PESH tennis players, and the focus will be on fundamentals, including forehand, backhand, volley, overhead and the serve.
There also will be “Quick Start” tennis for youngsters and beginners. The camps also will feature competitive games, match play, emphasis on the mental side of the game and daily contests to win prizes.
Those wanting to register can do so at www.highpointtennis.com, where signing up can be done at “Classes & Camps,” and “Summer Camps.” Make sure to sign up for the junior camp at Plano East.
