Associate Principal Shawn Miller will have a new home starting the 2015-’16 school year. Miller will be saying goodbye to East and hello to Cooper Junior High, where he will take on the role of principal.

Miller brings with him 20 years of experience and will replace Tami Nauyokas, who is retiring at the end of the school year.

“I am very excited about getting to know the students, parents, and the entire Patriot community,” said Mr. Miller. “I am honored to be given the opportunity to work with the team at Cooper. The staff and students have accomplished a great deal, and I look forward to supporting their continued success.”

Miller began his teaching career in 1995 as a special education teacher in San Marcos. He continued in the field of special education until 2005, when he became an assistant principal in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD. He joined Wylie ISD in 2008 as a special education coordinator. From 2010-’14 he served as assistant principal at WEHS before becoming the associate principal.

He holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas State University, a Master of Art in Education Administration, also from TSU, and a Master of Science in Special Education from Texas A&M Commerce.
