Murphy firefighters to climb 110 flights

Numerous Murphy firefighters will climb 110 flights in remembrance of those who died in the World Trade Center attacks on 9/11.

Murphy Fire Department members Austin Owens, Ryan Hughes, Thomas Johnson, Brent Ulch, Chris Blum, Drex Dorman, Genaro Ocanas, John Grant and Adam Kroviak will be participating in this year’s Dallas 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb held at Renaissance Tower in downtown Dallas.

The stair climb will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 8 and the public is invited to attend.

After donning their protective gear or duty equipment, the firefighters, police officers, and EMS personnel will climb a total of 110 stories symbolizing the trek to the top of the former World Trade Center Towers.
